Worlds Within Worlds Poem

Worlds within Worlds

by Mary Margaret Park

Worlds within worlds

they are ambassadors and hosts

in toto liaisons

to colonies we rarely notice

like an invisible circus

they fly through the air

their abilities are magical

imprinting every living thing they touch

they are the legends of old

and the hysteria of the new

powerful and invincible

they’ve changed cities

altered landscapes

and stolen harvests…

all of these things and more…

they didn’t make a single sound

their passage

un-noticed

Information Bombs

Poem by Mary Margaret Park

information

tons of it

compression waves

spilling from our computer screens

A-bombs crowding

the mind’s horizon

origins

unknown

time slot stampede

marked and dated

obsolete upon arrival

the relevant

and the arcane

random and

specific

a vast

weigh station

of data

a race for the latest

it’s eclipse

             knowledge
