THE GRACKLES' SCREAM

SEK>.......?

If I was snow

emotionless and silent,

still as

frozen waters,

the lily-coloured self

spread out into Neverland,

blank alabaster skin

made not to sense nor feel,

with a heart of crystal gems

sparkling like ice

or precious diamonds,

hard to break -

would it suffice to quiet down

the murmur of the past

the whispers in the dark

  of a dead man's legacy

and all the ashes yearning?

FACES' OF EVE

   (F)aces of eve

pieces of you, pieces of me

normalcy in degrees

transparent

opaque

blackness

my words have tumbled

into a dark void

lost in the answer and call

of blackbirds

an interruption

shrieking chaos

shredding the peace

my brief respite has

ended

the blackbirds have returned

and I’ve grown weary

vultures

stealing normalcy in degrees

transparent

opaque

blackness

the grackles scream

mocking humanity

they’ve sent reason

away

for now, there is only blackness

better days reside

in the opaque silence of yesteryear

clarity’s window has closed

I can see you waving

on the other side

but the words tumbling from my lips

have no meaning

you are trapped behind the glass

the grackles scream

within us

pieces of me, pieces of you

normalcy in degrees

Transparent

Opaque

Blackness...

Information Bombs

Poem by Mary Margaret Park

information

tons of it

compression waves

spilling from our computer screens

A-bombs crowding

the mind’s horizon

origins

unknown

time slot stampede

marked and dated

obsolete upon arrival

the relevant

and the arcane

random and

specific

a vast

weigh station

of data

a race for the latest

it’s eclipse

             knowledge
